Scrappy Club January Q 1
Absolutely Scrappy Club description:
Carol is an experienced quilter with a well-rounded background in all aspects of quilting.
Participants will get a new pattern each month along with instruction on some other aspect of
quilting. This could be things like border/sashing options, fabric choices, different ways to make
scrappy quilts, using large feature fabrics, using pre-cuts, organizing fabrics, using orphan
blocks, etc. The focus is on a “scrappy” approach to quilting, which covers a wide range of what
might be called a scrappy quilt. Tips, tricks, and techniques are given, many of which may
improve skills for all quilts going forward, whether scrappy or not. The block patterns have
various degrees of difficulty with easier options given where indicated. Full notes are given
each class day, and students spend most of the day working on the block or whatever else they
choose to do, with some individual attention given throughout the day. Students must already
have a basic knowledge of quilt-making, but this is open to all levels of expertise. It is a low
stress class that is intended for students to have fun. Show and tell of scrappy quilts is enjoyed
each class, in an atmosphere of sharing and encouragement for all. Cost $85 for 3 months. If
only attending one class the cost is $35., but students must be pre-registered, as it is not a drop
in class.
