Wednesday Advance Sewing

 

Starting date: March 8 2023 until May 10, 2023 (13 weeks) 6 pm to 9 pm

 

Cost: $ 300.00 

Limited classes 8 to 10 students

 

Students must know how to use machines read patterns and take measurements

 

• straight lines holding fabric correctly
• pockets/styles for what garment
• collars
• zipper installment
• buttonholes stitching/sewing button on
• how to sew by hand (bring something from home to fix)
• darts/pleats
• pin tucking /elastic techniques
• topstitching /in the ditch
• decorative stitches when to use
• how to use an iron (iron is your best friend when sewing)
• interfacing weight for which fabric
• hemming rolled/inside hand or machine sewn/overturn cuff
• how to measure to fit the pattern(s)
• how to read the pattern
• how to adjust the pattern
• where roller cutter/scissors come in(size to use)
• starting project always have a notebook for notes on stitch length, width, design number, foot, color code for thread, etc

 

• above techniques should be able to apply when sewing, but not a must (will assist)

 

Adjusted Pattern for class: lined blazer with lined trouser or designer fashion with advanced techniques.

 

Students will require in purchasing pattern and fabric, thread(s), elastic, buttons (all notions) to produce garment. If you finished project please bring in a repair item from home or purchase new fabric and pattern, THAT can be made in specific time frame.

 

Classroom is rented NO MAKEUP CLASSES

 

Each student is required to bring own sewing equipment (needles, pins, scissors, roller cutter, rules 12” and 36” yard stick, fabric markers, etc.
